Karachi: Fans were over the moon after Pakistan dominated the day 2 proceedings of the first Test of three-match series at Old Trafford, Manchester.
Almost on every social media platform, cricket fans were in awe of Shan Masood’s 156 run knock, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s economical opening spell, Mohammad Abbas’ special delivery to dismiss Ben Stokes and much more.
Here are the best reactions of people on Twitter.
Very happy for Shan Masood. His hard work is finally paying off. Education & Sport is a rare combination in Pakistan, Shan has shown how to do both. Pakistan need more such characters. He is a good influence in the dressing room. I think he will be even better in ODIs. #EngvPak

Shaheen Shah Afridi is my favourite bowler in the world right now. Full lengths, high speeds, swing & the left-arm angle. There are better bowlers (although not many) but none are more exciting or as fun to watch. #ENGvPAK

Abbas was a worker in a leather factory in Sialkot. He was about to leave for Germany before being selected for a domestic cricket team on basis of a toss. Today he's among the best fast bowlers in world cricket. What a story!#ENGvPAK pic.twitter.com/sDWhugSYkC

Pakistan scored a decent first innings total of 326 but it looked a huge as England let themselves down in front of some great bowling display in the final session by Shaheens. The hosts are now depending on young Ollie Pope, the hopes of day 3 surely lie on his shoulders as England would be itching to recover their innings.
The 22-year-old is batting at 46, four runs shy of his fifth half-century in this format. England will be offering a three-figure mark form him but support from Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes would be the key too.
Pakistan’s bowler were right on the song, starting from Shaheen Shan Afridi who finished the day with brilliant figures of 1/12 in nine overs. Captain Azhar Ali will once again trust Shaheen to give the same along with senior Mohammad Abbas, who is leading the bowling chart with figures of 2/24. He will be eyeing his fifth five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game.
