Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro Officially Announced

The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro with EF mount is now officially announced. The US price is $2,495 and it is now available for pre-order at B&H, Adorama.

Blackmagic Design also announced the self-contained Web Presenter HD, and the robust ATEM Mini Extreme and ATEM Mini Extreme ISO live switchers.

The BMPCC 6K Pro features all the recording features, sensor, dynamic range, buttons, and ports as its predecessor, and adds a variety of important new features such as a 5″ tilting HDR capacitive touchscreen LCD with 1500 cd/m² brightness, a Pro EVF option, built-in clear/2/4/6-stop ND filters, dual mini-XLR inputs, an accurate timecode clock, an NP-F570 L-series battery slot, and updated Gen 5 color science.

BMPCC 6K PRO

Designed to blend high-end digital cine features with the familiar Pocket Cinema Camera form, the EF-mount Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro uses a 6144 x 3456 Super 35 sensor and the same Gen 5 color science found in the high-end URSA Mini Pro 12K to capture clean, cinematic images with shallow depth of field. The 6K Pro features a tilting, high-bright LCD screen for easy daylight viewing, internal, motorized ND filters for quick aperture and shutter speed control, and Sony L-series battery compatibility. It retains many of the same options as the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K including CFast and SD card slots but adds more pro functions like a second mini-XLR audio input.
