We have some fresh speculation that the Panasonic GH6 camera will likely be capable of shooting 8K video. Sony’s new Micro Four Thirds sensor with 8K video is rumored to be in development and expected to become available in 2021.
The 34MP and 47MP are perfect sensor resolutions for 8K video recordings. We see 8k resolution usually as 7680×4320 in 16:9 aspect ratio. This makes the sensor to be around 33.18MP to offer these values. According to latest reports the upcoming Panasonic GH6 camera may use the Sony Sensor [IMX594CQR].
Panasonic is rumored to announce the Lumix GH6 Micro Four Thirds camera sometime in 2021. Earlier Panasonic rumors claims that there will be three models GH6V, GH6 and GH6X.

A new sensor would be an essential addition to the Panasonic GH6, given that its Panasonic GH5 predecessor launched over four years ago. The new image sensor (model name IMX492LQJ) might actually show up in the successor to the Panasonic GH5S which could be named as Panasonic GH6.
The multi-aspect sensor will capture 41-megapixel resolution in 4:3 mode or 35 megapixels in 17:9. The new Sony sensor records 8K video in 30p in 17:9 mode, and in 4:3 mode this drops to 25p. See full details here.
