Brilliant Abrar drives Sindh to consecutive wins in QeA Trophy 2nd XI tournament

Karachi: After bagging 13 wickets in the first round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Second XI tournament, Abrar Ahmed once again played a vital role in Sindh’s second win over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by 163 runs in the second round.

Abrar picked 9 wickets (four in 1st innings and five in 2nd innings) in the match. Aamir Ali also claimed five wickets (2 in 1st innings and 3 in 2nd innings)

Sindh opting to bat first posted 270/8 in the first innings. The right-handed batsman Ammad Alam scored a brilliant 98 while all-rounder Danish Aziz and wicket-keeper batsman made 46 and 43 respectively. For KP, Mohammad Imran picked four wickets.

KP was bowled out for 139 in their first innings. Young Mohammad Haris was the notable run-getter, scoring 36.

In the second innings, KP made a comeback and castled Sindh on a score of 133. Asif Afridi picked 6/50. Saifullah remained unbeaten on 34 off 85 balls.

KP set to chase 265, only managed to make 101. Only three batters, Mohammad Imran Snr (18), Asif Afridi (21), Mehran Ibrahim (24) managed to enter in double-figures.

Meanwhile, Southern Punjab’s clash against Balochistan and Central Punjab’s match against Northern ended in a draw.
