‘I have been told that I am not in PCB’s future plans’ claims Salman Butt

Karachi: Former Test captain Salman Butt claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conveyed to him that he is not included in their future plans.

Speaking to Samaa Tv, Butt said there is no purpose in playing First-Class cricket when there is nothing for him ahead. “Thankfully, I have been told that I am not in PCB’s future plans,” shared Butt. “If I am not in their future plans, then there is no purpose in playing First-Class cricket. I am a person who always strives when there is something progressive otherwise it’s useless to play and score runs,” he added.

Butt revealed that he will be seen as a commentator during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy which is scheduled to start here at National Stadium from October 25.

“Four Day cricket needs a lot of time, I mean for three months you can’t do anything else. So, I have decided to move on as there is no chance for me ahead and I will try my luck in commentary. Else, I am enjoying playing white-ball cricket and I will continue as long as I can,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that Butt also withdrew from National T20 Cup after being demoted to the second XI of Central Punjab. He has also refused to sign the Provincial central contract as confirmed by the PCB.
